Hi, my name is Chris Morgan.  In addition to writing this blog, I do a few other things.

Teacher–I have a master’s degree from a Top 5 University, but I can’t say it prepared me for the roller coaster years of adolesence!  Over 20 years of classroom experience has been my best teacher of all things teenage related.  My Irish Catholic mother would always talk about figuring out your vocation. For me, that’s what teaching is–it’s something I’ve been called to do. You don’t hear the word “calling” as much these days, but it’s still an idea I firmly believe in.

Husband–opposites attract, right?  My wife, Danielle, is extremely sweet, outgoing, and beautiful.  Guess you know what that makes me. I treasure our walks with our dog, Lola.  Life gets so busy that these walks are our time to reconnect, laugh, and dream about our future.

Father–our boys are 13 and 14 years old.  They enjoy superhero movies, video games, and wrestling tournaments.  These days they’re more likely to be out with a friend than playing Monopoly at home with the family.  We still manage to have meals together, and they still manage to act like toddlers at the dinner table!

Brazilaian Jiu Jitsu Student–Grappling is a big part of our family.  Our two very active boys wrestle and I do Jiu Jitsu. For me, Jiu Jitsu is a great metaphor for life.  We wrestle with problems everyday. The best way to overcome these problems is trial, error and trial again.  It’s a lot like dealing with teenagers!

Outdoor Lover–I believe in the rejuvenating power of nature.  I believe in the beauty and wonder of trees, leaves, lakes, rocks, and sand.  I get tremendous joy from sitting around a campfire talking and laughing with friends and family. When life gets too hectic, I yearn to unplug the electronics and reconnect with nature, with loved ones, and even with myself.
